Eligibility Criteria
(i) For VRET Category:
Educational Qualifications:
– Candidates must have completed either:
– A 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree (8 semesters), or
– A 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree.
– Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-Abled).
– Candidates with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree must have 75% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
– M.Phil. Holders:
– Candidates with an M.Phil. degree having at least 55% marks are eligible (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
– Foreign Degrees:
– Degrees from accredited foreign institutions are accepted as per statutory guidelines.
(ii) For VRET Exempted Category:
– Eligible Candidates:
– Permanent/Regular Teachers with at least 2 years of uninterrupted service.
– International Students meeting eligibility or sponsored by embassies with fellowships.
– Fellowship Holders qualified in UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, DBT-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, GATE/GPAT/CEED (with fellowship).
– NET Qualified Candidates (Category I, II, III) as per UGC guidelines.
– Working Professionals in government/private sectors with valid NOC, 2 years of experience, and having completed probation.

– VRET (Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test)
– VRET Exempted Category
2. VRET (Entrance Test) Admission Process
– Selection Process: Two-stage process—Entrance Testfollowed by Interview/Viva-Voce.
– Exam Pattern:
– Duration: 120 minutes
– Total Marks: 100 (100 multiple-choice questions)
– Syllabus: 50% Research Methodology + 50% Subject-Specific
Qualifying Marks:
– 50% (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-Abled categories)
Weightage:
70% Entrance Test
30% Interview/Viva-Voce

3. VRET Exempted Category Admission Process
Applicable for candidates with valid scores in UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE or for eligible working professionals.
For UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE Qualified Candidates:
70% Weightage for Normalized Test Score
30% Weightage for Interview/Viva-Voce
For Other VRET-Exempted Candidates:
– Interview/Viva-Voce: 20 Marks
– Research Proposal Presentation: 30 Marks
Academic Background (Total 50 Marks):
10th (HSC): 5 Marks (5 for >75%, 3 for 60–75%, 2 for <60%)
12th (HSSC): 5 Marks (same criteria as above)
Undergraduate Degree: 20 Marks (20 for >75%, 10 for 60–75%, 5 for <60%)
Postgraduate Degree: 20 Marks (20 for >75%, 15 for 60–75%, 10 for <60%)
