Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is now accepting applications for Ph.D. programs for the academic session 2024-25. AMU offers a wide range of research opportunities across various disciplines, aiming to foster an environment of academic excellence and innovation. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply to pursue advanced studies under the guidance of distinguished faculty. Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualifications :
– Master’s degree (1-year/2-semester after 4-year bachelor’s OR 2-year/4-semester after 3-year bachelor’s) with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
– OR M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
– OR 4-year bachelor’s degree with research and a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent grade.
Special Eligibility :
– Candidates in externally funded research projects at AMU, who meet basic criteria, may apply with project alignment justification from the Principal Investigator.
– Contractual Assistant Professors and Guest Teachers, permanent school teachers, Nursing Tutors, and permanent non-teaching employees with five years of service at AMU may apply for part-time Ph.D. programs if eligibility is met.
Relaxation : A 5% marks relaxation in the qualifying exam is applicable for Differently Abled Candidates.

Admission Criteria
Selection Process :
– Admission is based on (a) a written test and (b) a presentation-cum-interview for those who pass the written test. Exemptions may apply as per Ordinances .
Exemptions :
– Candidates with fellowships/scholarships from UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, CEED, or similar national exams with qualifying scores (General Category) are exempt from the written test. They must, however, attend the presentation-cum-interview.
– Foreign nationals are exempt from the written test but must participate in the presentation-cum-interview, either in person or via video conferencing.

– Indian Nationals : Rs 950/-
– Foreign Nationals : Rs 8300/-
